Chesapeake Expeditions Camp

Chesapeake Expeditions will lead campers on a unique aquatic adventure along some of the most scenic waterways of the Bay. Explore backwater creeks and open water beaches from a variety of watercraft including kayaks and paddle boards. Discover all the wildlife native to the Chesapeake whether spying through binoculars, snorkeling through the surf or from behind the lens of your camera. Five days, five unique expeditions! Our expert guides deliver a once-in-a-lifetime experience your child will never forget!

The week long camp experience includes many exciting choices including Stand Up Paddle Board Trips, Snorkeling, Kayak Excursions, Nature Photography, Kayak Fishing, Chesapeake Bay Wildlife. All water sports equipment and daily roundtrip transportation to our waterfront locations from McDonogh School is provided. Basic swim skills are mandatory.

This program is conducted at multiple locations along the Gunpowder River and its estuaries. Here's the best part: Roundtrip transportation is available from just about anywhere in or around Baltimore!! Campers will receive transportation by McDonogh School's own and well maintained Bus Fleet. The Director of Transportation makes professional arrangements to provide the best possible service to meet our Campers' needs. A centralized system is used to promote shorter and safer routes.

When you enroll, please complete theTransportation Information Form. The McDonogh School Transportation Department will notify Campers of pick-up sites and times.
Tuition
Ages: Boys and Girls 10 to 14
Hours: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (M-F)
Dates: Weekly sessions June 18 to July 28
Tuition: $395
Independence Day Week (4 days/$320)
Designed as a single-week only course.
A maximum of 12 students will be admitted per session.
Lunch & Things
Campers must provide their own lunch, preferably in a cooler or insulated lunch bag. All watersports equipment is provided, however campers must bring a swim suit, dry change of clothes, sneakers, sun screen (spf 30 or better), and watersports booties.
What to Bring
Campers participating in any of our programs will need to bring the following equipment:
- BackPack
- Sunglasses
- Sunscreen (min. spf 30)
- Lip Balm
- Swim suit
- Beach towel
- Water bottle
- Personal Insulated Lunch Bag/Container
- Windbreaker top
- Sweatshirt or Fleece Top
- Dry change of clothes (shorts, socks, t-shirt)
- Sandals or Water Sport Shoes (booties)
- Tennis Shoes or Hiking Shoes
- Disposable Camera
Before & After Care
The Before and AfterCare program gives you the opportunity to drop off your child any time between 7:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. and pick up your child any time between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Children will be able to participate in recreational activities including games, sports, crafts, computers, and outdoor programs.
This service is offered at an additional fee to all Chesapeake Expeditions campers between the weeks of June 20 and July 29. Pre-registration and pre-payment are required for this service.
Multi-Sibling Discount
A multiple-sibling discount is offered to families who have two or more children enrolled in Chesapeake Expeditions or Ultimate Watersports summer camps. A discount of 5% per child will be deducted from the tuition.
