What Does my child need to bring?
· Swim suit
· Beach towel
· Water bottle (quart size)
· Personal Insulated Lunch Bag/Container
· Water shoes/sandals (We HIGHLY encourage sandals with straps or booties that will not easily fall off of feet)
· Sunscreen (min. spf 30)
· Back Pack
Good Idea to Bring:
· Lip Balm
· Windbreaker top
· Sweatshirt or Fleece Top
· Dry change of clothes (shorts, socks, t-shirt)
· Tennis Shoes or Hiking Shoes
· Disposable Camera
How does a Typical Day Run?
10:00-10:20 Arrival and Welcome
10:20-11:30 First Water Sport Rotation
11:30-12:15 Lunch and BR Break
12:15-1:15 Second Water Sport Rotation
1:15-2:15 Third Water Sport Rotation
3:00-6pm After Care available (fee)
What size group will my child be a part of?
Ultimate Watersports Camp: 9-12 campers
Rock n River: 12 campers
What is the age breakdown per group?
Ultimate Watersports Extreme Camp I: 9/10and 10/11
Ultimate Watersports Extreme Camp II: 12/13,13/14 and 15/16
Rock n River: 10-14
Can friends/siblings be grouped together?
Absolutely!! Our purpose is to create the MOST comfortable environment for your children.
For how many weeks can I register my child?
Ultimate Watersports Camp: from one week to eight weeks
Rock n River: one week
How many children are there to each full-time staff?
Ultimate Watersports Camp: 6:1
Rock n River: 4:1
What certifications do the instructors have?
Sailing instructors are certified by US SAILING. These instructors are also certified in First-Aid and CPR. Parents interested in learning about US SAILING's certification program, may visit their site.
Windsurfing instructors are certified by US SAILING. These instructors are also certified in First-Aid and CPR. Parents interested in learning about US SAILING's certification program, may visit their site.
Kayak instructors are certified by the ACA (American Canoe Association). These instructors are also certified in First-Aid and CPR. Parents interested in learning about ACA certification, may visit their site.
Are there lifeguards on duty?
YES, at all times. We provide full-time lifeguards to monitor your child whenever he/she is on water.
Who provides the transportation service for Watersports Camp and Chesapeake expeditions?
The McDonogh School, a professional school bus service, provides the roundtrip transportation, available ONLY for thr 6 weeks: June 18 thru July 27. To arrange for this option, you MUST register through the McDonogh Summer Programs website.
How long has Ultimate Watersports been running water sport programs?
How old is the equipment used in camp?
Our fleet of Kayaks (approximately 100 units), Paddle Boards (80 units) and Windsurfers (25 units) are replaced each year. Our sailboat is replaced every four years and are cared for with a rigorous weekly maintenance schedule.
