and Girls 10 to 14
Hours: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (M-F)
Dates: Weekly sessions June 16 to July 25
Tuition: $370
Designed as a single-week only course. A maximum of
12 students will be admitted per session.
The
Chesapeake Bay Eco-Challenge offers children the unique opportunity
to discover and study the Chesapeake Bay and its many eco-systems.
Each day, children will explore by kayak a different bay eco-system,
including wetlands, marshes, water trails and beaches of the
upper Chesapeake watershed.
Nature
is our laboratory and campers will experience true hands-on
learning while discovering incredible aquatic life, habitats,
and food chains. Bald eagles, painted turtles, great blue
heron, osprey, clams, and Chesapeake blue crabs are just some
of the wildlife to be discovered in this week-long program.
Additional topics such as tides, currents, weather and water
safety are also covered. Children will swim, kayak, snorkel,
seine, and fish while learning about how they can become the
next stewards of the Chesapeake Bay.
This
program is conducted at multiple locations along the Gunpowder
River and its estuaries. Here's the
best part: Roundtrip transportation
is available from just about anywhere in or around Baltimore!!
Campers will receive transportation by McDonogh School's own

makes professional arrangements to provide the best possible
service to meet our Campers' needs. A centralized system
is used to promote shorter and safer routes.
