Rumsey Island Adventure Camp FAQs

WHAT DOES MY CHILD NEED TO BRING?

Essential:

·         Swim suit

·         Beach towel

·         A bag lunch & Water bottle (quart size)

·         Water shoes/sandals (We strongly encourage booties or sandals with straps or booties that will not easily fall off of feet)

·         Sunscreen (min. spf 30)

·         Back Pack

Good Idea to Bring:

·         Lip Balm

·         Windbreaker top

·         Sweatshirt or Fleece Top

·         Dry change of clothes (shorts, socks, t-shirt)

·         Tennis Shoes or Hiking Shoes

8:00-9:00am        Before-Care Option  (fee)

9:00-9:15am        Arrival and Welcome

9:15-11:00am      1st Rotation: fishing, crabbing, Kayak adventures, SUP adventures, Pirate Adventures

11:00-12:15pm     2nd Rotation: fishing, crabbing, Kayak adventures, SUP adventures, Pirate Adventures

12:15-12:45pm     Lunch

12:45-1:45pm       3rd Rotation: fishing, crabbing, kayak adventures, SUP adventures, Pirate Adventures

1:45-3:00pm         4th Rotation: fishing, crabbing, kayak adventures, SUP adventures, Pirate Adventures

WHAT SIZE ARE EACH GROUP?

Max of 8 campers per age grouping

WHAT IS THE AGE BREAKDOWN PER GROUP?

Rumsey 1: 9-11

Rumsey 2: 12-14

CAN FRIENDS/SIBLINGS BE GROUPED TOGETHER?

Absolutely!! Our purpose is to create the MOST comfortable environment for your children.

FOR HOW MANY WEEKS CAN I REGISTER MY CHILD?

WHAT CERTIFICATIONS DO THE COUNSELORS HAVE?

ALL Camp staff are certified in First-Aid and CPR.

Certified (ACA) Paddling Instructors are on duty during all camp hours.

No other summer camp on the Chesapeake has over 35 years of experience and the impeccable safety record - we guarantee it!

ARE THERE LIFEGUARDS ON DUTY?

YES, at all times. We provide full-time lifeguards to monitor your child whenever he/she is on water.

DO YOU HAVE A FIRST AID FACILITY?

YES!, We have a dedicated full time First Aid Office and a full time Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) on staff.

WHO PROVIDES THE TRANSPORTATION SERVICE FOR WATERSPORTS SUMMER PROGRAMS?

We do not offer a transportation option, therefore it is up to you to provide your own.

ARE THERE RESTROOMS?

Yes, we have restrooms for all campers.

DO YOU HAVE A SNACK BAR/CAMP STORE

Yes, our snack bar sells all kinds of beverage options as well as healthy snacks. Our Camp Store stocks water bottles, dry bags, water shoes, etc.

DO YOU HAVE INDOOR SPACE IN CASE OF FOUL WEATHER

Yes, we have ample space indoors to provide shelter in case of thunderstorms, etc.

HOW LONG HAS ULTIMATE WATERSPORTS BEEN RUNNING WATER SPORT PROGRAMS?

Since 1985. We are the most established and professionally run summer camp on the Chesapeake Bay with more than 35 years of safely run water sports camps and thousands of happy campers and camp parents.

WHAT IS THE CONDITION OF THE WATER SPORTS EQUIPMENT?

Our fleet of Kayaks (100 units), Paddle Boards (50 units) are all brand new or no more than one season old and in excellent condition.

CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS

Ultimate Watersports does not provide refunds for our summer camp programs. Under certain circumstances, we will provide a credit towards future camp weeks or for other Ultimate Watersports programming.
